Where can I see Highland Games?
There are some Games in Scotland in May and September, but most take place June - August:

There are also lots of Highland Games and Celtic festivals in other countries (especially Australia, Canada & USA) - see the U.S.SCOTS Directory of Scottish Games

UK accommodation terminology:
Double room = 1 large bed for 2 people
Twin room = 2 separate single beds
Triple room = beds for 3 people (1 double + 1 single, or 3 singles)
Family room = bedroom for a family (usually at least 1 double bed and at least 1 single bed)
The term "ensuite bedroom" or "ensuite facilities" means that your bathroom (shower and/or bath, plus WC) can be accessed without leaving your bedroom
The term "private bathroom" or "private facilities" means that you will need to leave your bedroom and go into the corridor to access your bathroom (shower and/or bath, plus WC) and this bathroom is for your use only (not any other guests).

What about Gaelic?
Gaelic can still be heard in some parts of Scotland, particularly in the Outer Hebrides (Western Isles) and Isle of Skye. It can also be seen on road signs in many parts of the Highlands and Islands.

Aurora Borealis / Northern Lights
