Springside B&B in Tarbert is a handy base for touring Kintyre, Argyll and Cowal, as well as taking ferries to the islands of Arran, Islay, Colonsay, Gigha and Bute.

The town is located:

• 100 miles west of Glasgow (2 hours 15 minutes by road via Loch Lomond).
• 50 miles south of Oban (1 hour's drive).
• 40 miles north of Campbeltown.
• 20 miles from historic Kilmartin.
• 10 miles from Claonaig - the ferry point for Arran.
• 5 miles from Kennacraig - the ferry terminal for Islay.

For those without their own transport,
a regular bus service is operated on the mainland routes by Citylink.
