Continue eastwards and you can visit the castles of Cawdor, Kilravock and Brodie, as well as the endless sands of Nairn and the historic town of Elgin.

And don't forget to allow time to explore Inverness itself with the museum and art gallery by the tourist office,

As well as having many concerts, festivals and special events throughout the year, the city also hosts the Highland Games and Inverness Tattoo in summertime when delightful floral displays are in full bloom.
