In this 75-minute video Alison takes you on a personal guided tour featuring many of the different facets of life around the loch, visiting people and places, and hearing stories of past and present from boatbuilder to Benedictine monk and from croft to castle.
Beginning just outside Inverness on the Caledonian Canal, the cruise continues into the loch up towards the picturesque ruins of Urquhart Castle.
We hear the story of King Brude, Saint Columba and the monster, as well as eye-witness accounts of Nessie sightings.
The video also features an exclusive conversation with Bob Rines of Boston U.S.A., the most constant and dedicated of Nessie hunters during his recent underwater research in the loch with the Academy of Applied Science.
Reaching Fort Augustus at the head of the loch, we see the historic Abbey and listen to the magical music of the Celtic harp played by Sasha MacKenzie.
