Relax in the lounge and take in breathtaking views across Loch Pooltiel and the Minch to the Outer Isles.

Hamera is within walking distance of the village of Glendale where you can take a meal at 'An Strupag' restaurant. Provisions can be obtained at the Post Office or Glen Stores. As well as a fold of Highland Cattle, also on your doorstep are beautiful coastal walks, fishing, birdwatching, cycling (local bike hire), and guided wildlife walks, all giving the chance to spot the seals, otters, deer, foxes, golden eagles and the ever present buzzards.

'Who are you looking at?!'

You may not want to use your car, but if you do, Dunvegan Castle (the ancient seat of the Chief of the Clan MacLeod) is close by. There you can tour the castle and see the famous Fairy Flag, visit the gardens and even take a boat trip out to see the seal colonies.

As well as the many scenic and historic places to visit on Skye, there are also lots of interesting events such as Highland Games, Gaelic festivals, traditional music, agricultural shows, sheepdog trials, piping competitions and such like throughout the summer. Whether you come to tour the castles, climb the Cuillin or just wander in the peace of the wilderness, you will find you want to return to explore more of this timeless island year after year.
