Self-Led Hiking Trek from Glasgow to Fort William
Long Distance Trail

------------------------------------------------------

One of the most famous treks in the UK, the West Highland Way takes you from Glasgow to Fort William on a 95 mile trek which is not too arduous, but some sections are surprisingly hard.
You walk alongside Loch Lomond beneath Ben Lomond, up into the classic highlands, with mountains all around you and overnight stays where you can relax in comfortable accommodations and join in the social atmosphere in the Inns and Hotels.

The scenery is stunning and the Way is well marked throughout, though we provide a guide book and map just to be sure you don't get lost! The West Highland Way is part of a network of great trekking trails in Scotland, and if you wish to extend your walking, why not take the Great Glen Way or the Drovers Trail to Skye which starts from Fort William.

The most comfortable time to complete the trek is 8 days, but we do offer a 7-day trek as well.

We offer 3 levels of accommodation:

  • Hotels and Guest Houses all with private facilities
  • Hotels, Guest Houses and B&Bs, mostly with private facilities
  • B&Bs with shared bathroom facilities

We recommend the first night in Glasgow, as there is not much to do or see in Milngavie, a suburb of Glasgow. Milngavie is the official starting point for the Way, with a cairn for photography! We can transfer you to Milngavie from Glasgow (see options below).
