The Internet Guide to Scotland

Eilean Donan

Scottish Accommodation - Sightseeing - Travel & Transport
including The Internet Guide to Inverness & Loch Ness

Largely based on my personal travels, this online guide contains details on transport, sightseeing, outdoor activities and accommodation throughout Scotland with particular emphasis on the Highlands and Islands (including the Outer Hebrides or Western Isles).

Launched in May 1996, this site is now recommended by books including Lonely Planet guidebook for Scotland and 'The Rough Guide to Scotland'.

Callanish standing stones, Isle of Lewis

Visit Scotland and you will discover a land of lochs, mountains, history and much more. Whether you want to stay on a farm, spend the night in a castle, relax with a romantic break at a country house hotel or a spa hotel with pool, there's plenty of accommodation to choose from.
In addition to hotels, Scotland has an excellent selection of self catering accommodation including holiday cottages and log cabins, as well as B&Bs ranging from budget to 5 star luxury.

If you aren't sure which part of Scotland you want to visit, check out the Map and Destination Highlights or pick a place from the list below and let your holiday begin.

About the Author - External Links

From the lone shieling of the misty island
Mountains divide us, and a waste of seas; yet
Still the blood is strong; the heart is Highland
And we in dreams behold the Hebrides

( Canadian Boat Song, circa 1829 )
